Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is freeze-dried food?
Freeze-dried food is made by removing moisture from fresh food using a special process that keeps the flavor, color, shape, and nutrients intact (retains 97%). The result is a light, crunchy, shelf-stable product that lasts much longer than fresh or dehydrated foods.
2. How is freeze-drying different from dehydrating?
Dehydration uses heat to remove water, which can shrink the food and reduce nutrients. Freeze-drying, on the other hand, uses a cold vacuum process that preserves more of the original texture, taste, and nutrition.
3. What types of food do you freeze-dry?
We freeze-dry a variety of foods including fruits, vegetables, snacks, herbs, and full meals. Our selection may rotate based on the season and availability.
4. Is your freeze-dried food healthy?
Yes! Our products are made with real ingredients, with no added preservatives or artificial flavors. We aim to keep it as natural and nutritious by using clean ingredients.
5. How long does freeze-dried food last?
Freeze-dried food can last anywhere from 20-30 years depending on the packaging and storage conditions. Our retail packaging is designed for everyday use and lasts up to 25 years. We seal our products in mylar bags with an oxygen absorber included. We additionally heat seals the bags for added security, protection and waterproof. Product should be stored in a cool, dark, dry place ( such as a pantry).
6. Do I need to cook or prepare freeze-dried food?
Nope! Most of our products can be eaten right out of the bag. Some items, like full meals, can be rehydrated by adding hot water — instructions are included with each item.
7. Is your packaging resealable?
Yes, our packages are ziplocked mylar bags to help keep your food fresh after opening. Please read instructions label on how long your food will stay fresh after opening.
8. Do you offer custom or bulk orders?
